The Tehachapi Mountain Branch of the American Association of University Women began in 1980 as a satellite branch, with its first project being a scholarship.

Since then the organization has become its own branch and is involved in a myriad of activities in the area.

Activities reflect the values of professional and personal growth, community leadership, and friendship.
